I’d like to do a bit of video-blogging, but my technical knowledge doesn’t extend to digital video cameras. If anyone can advise me on purchasing an inexpensive but suitable video camera for this purpose I would be very grateful! What do you think?

You don’t need a very high resolution for video blogging so you may want to forego the complexity of a digital video camera and go for a digital camera with a video function.
I bought a Samsung NV10 around a year ago and have used it to take a lot of video. The only drawback I’ve noticed is that it drops the sound when you zoom.
