New on television this week:
Life on Mars
The programme tells the story of Sam Tyler, a New Labour backbench MP, who after taking a poisoned chalice in 2007, finds himself in the year 1978. There, he works for the British Government under a control freak Prime Minister (played expertly by Gordon Brown) and his sidekick Chancellor (Alastair Darling).
Over the course of the series, Tyler faces various culture clashes, most frequently regarding the differences between his modern approach to politics and the more traditional methods of his colleagues.

I COULD NOT THINK OF A BETTER TITLE! I came through the 70s and now it feels like i am going backwards in time also. Never worked then and will not work now. Nationaly and localy they are running out of ideas. And they wonder why the voters suffer from apathy. If your house gets repoed who do you go to the government? Well cant wait for wednesday
Joe
Selective Amnesia seems to be your weakness Ian! You seem to be able to recall 1979 with clarity yet claim in the council chamber to have no memory of the next 18 years. I am also looking forward to Wednesday Joe if only to see if the Lib Dems have some ideas of their own or will follow the pattern of previous years and trail along after the Tories.
