Earlier this evening I attended the Friends of Walkden Station (FOWS) Annual General Meeting. FOWS are doing some fantastic work and I was very pleased to see another good turnout for the meeting. From a standing start a year ago, a huge amount of progress has been made and I am really encouraged that Peter (Chair), Neil (Secretary) and Angela (Treasurer) have been reappointed and are keen and willing to continue the good work along with their colleagues.
Three officers from British Transport Police were also in attendance and gave an interesting run-down of local railway policing as well as answering questions from the floor.
