I noticed this sign (pictured left) when I got off the bus at the top of Worsley Road in Swinton this morning.
There really isn’t much excuse for having out of date or misleading signs up on the road, and doubtless the same sign raises the blood pressure of the Swinton Councillors who are frequent visitors to this blog!
(Apologies for the poor quality image, I was in a rush and the sun was shining in all the wrong places to take a decent photo…)

I have recently been in print, on radio and T.V trying to highlight the problems we have in Swinton regards business.
Anyone looking at the news will see the global issues which are hitting home at businesses but one overiding theme that came out that had exacerbated the problems of Swinton was the result of taking away free parking.
Apparently we may have new signs higlighting all the great things of Swinton, just no where to stop (For free that is, unless you count the civic centre car park at the weekends)
You are right to say this will raise the blood pressure, since coming into council I have found nothing but an out of date system that needs a drastic overhall, maybe then we may have up to date signs.
The endemic spread of Pay to Park in Swinton has spread to Matalan. I was left wondering in Council when it was raised that congestion if left unchecked would leave Salford a car park, it was in the minds of the ruling elite that if congestion charging wasnt a viable option then this would be good source of new revenue.
