Good news for users of local Post Offices – the Government has performed a u-turn and agreed to keep the Post Office Card Account (POCA) which is used by over 4 million people across the country. The National Federation of Sub Post Masters had warned 3,000 post offices would close if the Government pressed ahead with plans to end the POCA.

Unfortunately, the decision comes too late to save the Post Offices at Patricroft, Langworthy and Adelphi which have been condemned under the Government’s current closure programme – supported by all 3 local Labour MPs.
