I’ve been thumbing through the excellent report that Shadow Chancellor George Osborne has released on Labour’s Debt Crisis. It’s a frightening and compelling read and you can download it for yourself here. Launching the report, the Shadow Chancellor said:
“Britain’s debt burden will not be paid off by unspecified people at an unspecified date. It will be paid by us and by our children. It means families will have to work longer. It means, if Labour get their way, we will all pay higher taxes”
He is absolutely right, and Labour’s debt mountain is in stark contrast to the common-sense measures that Osborne and his Conservative team have put forward to help local residents through the recession.

Labour has certainly lost the plot when it thinks it can spend its way out of debt and recession!
It always make me smile wryly whenever the ‘prudent Chancellor’ label is mentioned about Gordon’s time as Chancellor because it takes no account of the obvious realities of economic cycles. When Gordon was Chancellor and circumstances were much better the truth is that Gordon was getting the credit for the prudence and brilliance in particular of his predecessor Chancellor and Tory Ken Clarke. Likewise the main person to blame for much of the current disaster is not Darling but Brown; the UK is reaping now the economic stupidity of Gordon Brown when he was at No. 11.
The Labour Party cannot be trusted to wisely administer public money in the best interests of the people. Take a look at the local situation, with John Merry & Co throwing money at their propaganda magazine Life in Salford and at their attempted popularity gimmicks like the Pink Rink, and all the while Salford Council’s debt is racking up, core services are struggling and often inadequate and the good workers of the Council – the men and women upon whom we all depend, and without whom Salford would grind to a halt – the good workers of the Council are facing imminent large-scale lay-offs and pay cuts.
Labour cannot be trusted with our money in Worsley & Eccles South; Barbara Keeley cannot be trusted with our money in Worsley & Eccles. The next election is high time for Keeley and Labour to be sent to the knacker’s yard.
Morning Richard
The points you have raised are all correct, I think it would be wrong to comment on Mrs Keeley yet but i will over the coming months raise a number of issues. I think on a National Picure Gordan Brown and many Labour Mp’s are living on borrowed time. The economy is close to a house of cards, and the wind is starting to blow. Strange know how the numbers game is taking shape, Labour punp In 20 Billion- tories 50 Billion! sorry thats not our game. We need a long term fix not short term for the benifit of the media.I hope to raise our ideas for Salford lets hope those in power listen and we can escape from the mess we find our selves in
Regards
Joe
