So as I have already mentioned, our new recycling bins have finally arrived – a year late – in Walkden and Little Hulton.
The nice stickers on the top of the bins said that there would be a blue bin collection last week, so many local residents dutifully put out their paper waste for recycling… and collection came there none!
It seems that the stickers are wrong and that there are no recycling collections in Walkden until the end of the month. What a farce – how much more goodwill from local residents can our Council take away from the recycling service?
Apparently the collection start date is somewhere buried in the small print of Council publicity, but are people really going to read that rather than the big helpful sticker on the top of the bin? No, of course not.
