Another Look At The M60 Widening

I’ve been down to Grange Road to have a look at the proposed motorway widening from another angle. From the Grange Road motorway bridge you get a great view of the accident blackspot between junctions 13 and 12 – something that as I’ve commented previously will only get worse with the addition of an extra lane.

Residents in Worsley, Winton, Roe Green, Peel Green and Brookhouse are rightly concerned about the noise and air pollution that is emitted from the motorway and I can assure them that I will continue to stand up for their views and oppose the Government’s proposals.

Morbid interest in viewing Accident Black Spots eh? You’re not addicted to viewing “Seconds from Disaster” on the Discovery Channel by any chance?

The Highways Agency think that the exact opposite will happen and that stretch between J13 and J 12 will become safer. This is from the WBTTG website:

The proximity of Junction 13 to Junction 12 is a concern in terms of weaving and therefore safety. Creating an additional lane will help to reduce weaving and improve safety on the anticlockwise carriageway.
