We Want Change – Now Let’s Get On With It

The public continue to be rightly angry about the actions of many of our MPs over their expense claims. Local people want to pass judgement on our Parliament and on our politicians, and rightly so. They do not want to wait another year to do so.

Meanwhile, the governance of our country has ground to a halt. Our political system is paralysed, and the Labour Government is weak and clinging to office. We can’t afford to wait another year before getting to grips with Labour’s debt crisis.

Our political system needs a fresh start, and that means a General Election. Please sign David Cameron’s petition for a General Election to give Britain the change it needs, and to give our system of Government the spring clean and fresh start it so desperately requires.

For future reference , Iain , how many signatures to this petition do you think would morally compel the Labour government to call a GE .
Presumably this same number of signatures would also apply for any future Conservative government .

As much as the Lib Dems would also welcome a General Election at the moment, be honest Iain, it’s not going to happen. Why? Because Gordon Brown does not have to call a General Election. There is nothing the Tories (nor the Lib Dems) can do to change this situation.

I noticed you changed the banner on your home page – I’m beginning to think you do indeed have your head in the clouds on this matter!

Of course Gordon Brown does not have to call an election Steve, but what we are saying is that he should call an election.

Then you and your party should say that instead of “demanding” an election, as if it is your god-given right to do so. Nobody is doubting that Labour has got this country into an almighty mess and have no clue how to bring us out of it – but Brown knows (as do you and your party), that Labour will lose the next election.

They will hang on for grim death!

    Iain , I repeat my question :-
What number of signatures do you think would morally compel Brown or a future Conservative PM to call a GE ?

I like it Head in the Clouds!!

Come of it Ian! You are Local only to the well manicured gardens
    off Broadway!

Your Local neighbours I suspect will not feel the spending cuts
under the Tories like the people in Little Hulton or Eccles.

How will a freeze in Council Tax affect services and wages?

You are against the Congestion charge/the leigh guided bus route
what do you actually support for the local area?
