Fire Authority – New Chairman

I’m delighted that my Conservative colleague Cllr James Pearson was elected this morning as the new Chairman of the Greater Manchester Fire & Rescue Authority. Outgoing Liberal Democrat Chairman Paul Shannon becomes the new Vice-Chairman.

I have been appointed as the Authority spokesman to Salford City Council and I have also taken up a place on the North-West Regional Management Board.

  1. 1 lol

Good on him…So long as he focuses on it and doesnt take a 2nd job or payment for after dinner speeches, directorships etc….

Do you believe that people paid from the public purse should get bonuses?
Im just thinking about the recent RHS post advertised and the police chiefs in particular. After all they are hardly private sector roles.
Most working people gives 150% to their job without the expectation of a bonus if they deliver what they were employed to do.
