I’ve just spoken to Mr Harte at St George’s, who has given me the wonderful news that the Schools Adjudicator has ruled in favour of the school – St George’s is staying open!
This is fantastic, fabulous, amazing news. I’m so thrilled for all the parents, pupils (past and present), staff and community members who have worked so hard for this. More information as soon as I get it.

Well done, we may be politicly yards apart but you worked hard on that one
Common sense of course, but where does this leave Salford’s school-rebuilding budget projections?
Merge with Harrop Fold it was built to accomadate 1200 ?
Fantastic news, we have all worked so hard for it over the past few years. Can i just say thanks to you Iain for all the hard work you put in. You stood by the school even when it seemed all our other political leaders had left us (think Barbara). Without your support i doubt whether we would have overturned the councils decision. one question though, do you have any idea where this leaves BSF?
Iain – it is relatively easy to oppose a plan. What we now need is an agreed outcome from this sorry mess. What are your proposals?
