I’m delighted that at a meeting of local Conservatives this afternoon, Matthew Sephton was chosen to be the Prospective Conservative MP for the Salford & Eccles constituency.
Matthew is a good friend and will make an excellent representative for local people, and I look forward to working with him over the next few months.
Local residents in Salford & Eccles have a clear choice at the next General Election between five more years of a Labour Government that has let them down and taken from granted, and a Conservative Government under David Cameron that will provide a fresh start both for local residents in Salford, Eccles and Swinton and for the country as a whole. Only Matthew Sephton and the Conservative Party can provide the change that local people in Salford & Eccles constituency need!
Welcome also to James Edsberg who has been selected as the Prospective Conservative MP for the Blackley & Broughton constituency. I look forward to working with both James and Matthew to provide the change that Salford needs!
The Manchester and Salford City Seats Initiative selections which took place today were:
Salford & Eccles – Matthew Sephton
Blackley & Broughton – James Edsberg
Wythenshawe & Sale East – Janet Clowes
Manchester Central – Suhail Rahuja
Manchester Gorton – Caroline Healy
Manchester Withington – Chris Green

I live in Monton and have been considering voting Conservative at the next general election, I have now decided that I will do so.
One thing that worries me about the build up to the election is the thought of the homophobic Richard Carvath knocking on my door and spouting his hateful opinions at me. Would make for an interesting conversation I suppose!!
Best of luck!
Iain, if I still lived in your future constituency, I would have voted for you. Now I live in ‘Salford and Eccles’ I’ll be voting for Matthew. Unlike Anne, I’d welcome the hateful/awful Richard Carvath to knock on my door, so I can point out to him why he is so so wrong…
