A580 Bus Lane At Planning Committee

Following a large number of objections from local residents in Walkden, Worsley, Swinton, Boothstown and Ellenbrook, the traffic regulation orders required to proceed with plans to reduce the East Lancashire Road by a lane on some sections to make way for the Leigh Misguided Busway has been added to the agenda for the meeting of the Planning and Transportation Regulatory Panel tomorrow (Thursday 16th February). The meeting starts at 9.30am.

Reducing a lane on the A580 through Walkden is likely to make existing queues on Walkden Road, Newearth Road and Old Clough Lane even worse than they already are, as well as increase rat-running through our residential streets. If you are able to make it to the Civic Centre to show your support, it would be much appreciated. My Conservative colleagues from Boothstown and Ellenbrook ward are speaking on the matter and they have my full support.
