Today I’ve had confirmation that the application by Peel Holdings to build up to 15 houses on the green field site off Cranleigh Drive (next to the A580) will be discussed at the meeting of the Planning Panel on Thursday 5th December.
The Panel meets in the Salford Suite at the Civic Centre in Swinton, and the application is due to be discussed at 11.30am. The Planning Panel meets in public, and local residents are very welcome to attend – indeed I would encourage you to do so if you can. I appreciate that daytime meetings are not convenient for many people, especially those who are working or have caring commitments. I have asked in the past for evening meetings, to no avail.
Local residents can continue to be assured that both myself and Councillor Turner will do our utmost to support them in opposing this application, particularly over the loss of a green field site and traffic considerations; the junction between Mesne Lea Road and Walkden Road is difficult enough at the best of times, without adding to the traffic.
It’s also not too late to put in an objection or comment via the Council’s planning portal. The planning reference is 13/63859/OUT.
