Today local residents have the chance to choose a new Member of Parliament for the next four years and also to elect their Councillor.
It is a tremendous honour to be your Conservative Parliamentary Candidate for Worsley and Eccles South. This is my home and I hope that I have always tried to do my best for our area and speak up on behalf of local people on the issues that matter – from opposing the chaos of Labour’s misguided busway to protecting our local green spaces.
Locally and nationally, there’s a clear choice at this election. On the Council, you can choose between your hard-working Conservative team or a Labour Councillor who will just do what the City Mayor says – and we already know that the Labour City Mayor and his thirteen assistants have no interest in Walkden.
In Parliament, we can continue to grow the economy and create new jobs under a Conservative-led Government, or return to ruin with Ed Miliband and Ed Balls propped up by the SNP. In Worsley and Eccles South, unemployment has halved since 2010, income tax has been slashed for those on low and middle incomes, and there are more people in work than ever before.
I have always sought to be a voice for our area. Please use your local and national votes for your Conservative candidates today. It would be a great privilege to have your support – polls are open until 10pm.
