About Iain

Hello there, and thanks for visiting my website!

I’m Iain Lindley and I’m Conservative Councillor for Walkden South on Salford City Council, along with my ward colleague Councillor Les Turner.

I grew up here in Walkden, attending James Brindley Primary School, Walkden High School and Eccles College before graduating from the University of York.

I’ve been a Councillor for Walkden South since June 2004, and I was re-elected in May 2007, May 2011 and May 2015. I stood as the Conservative Parliamentary Candidate for Worsley & Eccles South in 2010 and again in 2015.

I was appointed to the Greater Manchester Fire & Rescue Authority in 2008, and I sit on the¬†Children’s Services Scrutiny Panel and the Growth & Prosperity Scrutiny Panel at the town hall.

In my spare time, I enjoy playing tennis and table-tennis, watching football, ice hockey and cricket, listening to music and walking in the Lake District fells. I work for a housing association in Greater Manchester.
